Full Job Description

Mitie is looking for a dedicated and passionate static experienced Multi Skilled Technician with Carpentry and Painting skills to join an experienced, versatile team, delivering first-class services to our world-class Armed Forces personnel. In your new role as a Multi Trade Operative you will be efficiently operating and maintaining new and existing building carrying out predominately Reactive Maintenance on various buildings, carry out fault finding completing all work-related documentation accurately and on time, occasionally assisting with completion of Planned Preventative Maintenance.,

  • First line response to reactive repairs - make safe and isolate.
  • Minor building fabric repairs
  • Carpentry works - to involve window and door repairs, fitting of hardware including lock replacements.
  • Minor glazing repairs
  • Minor decorating and patch repair tasks
  • Minor plumbing repairs
  • Ad-hoc escorting duties (escorting sub-contractors/personal on and around base)
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all assigned work orders.
  • Comply fully with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to building occupant/custodian, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with client on site.
  • Assist other team members on works, when required.
  • Report on all jobs, once attended. (Within 1 hour)
  • Occasional collection of parts/goods from suppliers (Line Manager to authorise), Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;
  • Information Security:
  • Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities;
  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
  • Report actual and suspected security incidents;
  • MOD security clearance and DBS Standards are required. To meet national security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years to gain Security Clearance
  • Proof of right to work in the UK essential
  • The Contract operates a 40-hour working week between the hours of 0800 and 1700 Mon to Fri.
  • Required to wear approved company work wear.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Company Van with Fuel Card and Mobile phone will be provided.

    The successful candidate is required to be well-organised, precise, confident with credible communication skills readily able and willing to contribute at all levels. In addition, the individual will be versatile, intuitive, and professional with good judgement and absolute integrity. Proactive and persuasive when required and responsive to changing needs of the business and demands of the customer, while remaining calm under pressure and self-motivated, the incumbent will be reliable and well presented, giving a positive image of MITIE and company values., Experience of building maintenance, handyperson or janitorial duties
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements within the facility maintenance environment.
  • Have a proactive approach to maintenance and building management.
  • Time served qualified carpenter skills (Ideally C&G Carpentry parts 1 & 2 or equivalent)
  • Keyboard skills and basic computer literacy
  • Excellent timekeeping/time management
