Full Job Description
The Specialist Support Worker will provide high quality, safety planning and recovery support as part of a multi-agency response to victims of modern slavery, providing protection through legal measures if applicable and enabling clients to engage in appropriate services.
Provide practical and emotional support and advocacy to victims of modern slavery in accordance with Changing Lives models of support, procedures and policies.
Manage a caseload of victims of modern slavery and trafficking into the sex industry, directly through initial contact, needs and risk assessment, emotional and practical support, and engagement with partnership agencies.
Co-develop with the individual, Support Plans and safety plans to address holistic recovery, ensuring that a strength based, robust plan for every person.
Support individuals to understand their rights and options available to them including referrals to the NRM process, housing, benefits, community resources, legal recourse/prosecution and measures to keep them safe.
Provide advocacy and refer and accompany to appointments as and when needed.
Ensure a therapeutic approach to understanding and engaging individuals to recover and thrive in their community.
Keep and maintain accurate and confidential records, contribute to monitoring information as required by Changing Lives and ensure all information is maintained in accordance with the GDPR.
