If so, we have an exciting opportunity available and would love to hear from you!, As MOT Case Officer, you will have a key role within the MOT Disciplinary Team (MDT) management team, driving continuous improvement in the quality and consistency of MOT casework. You will be responsible for progressing MOT casework by making non-technical decisions based on the principles of Administrative Law, ensuring the integrity of the disciplinary decision-making process.
In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues across the agency to support with a range of activity, including assessing cases to reach informed decisions, and supporting the team in drafting disciplinary letters when required. All whilst ensuring the appropriate sanctions are applied and that all processes comply with regulatory requirements.
Additionally, you will oversee and continuously develop and improve the current administrative process, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency across all casework processes.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
+ Collaborating with team members to assess cases received into the MDT, using logical argument to establish through the appliance of administrative law principles and the balance of probability the outcome of each case and reaching decisions for further actions.
+ Managing the MDT mailbox, ensuring a response is made to any customer facing enquiries within 2 working days, and ensuring cases or case information is dealt with appropriately.
+ Working in collaboration with other managers across all functions to create a high performing and well-respected Agency.
+ Providing support to seminars and meetings and encourage the provision of education and advice to external parties linked to MOT scheme.
+ Developing and maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders providing advice and education as required.
+ Demonstrating leadership by providing guidance to staff to support the delivery of objectives.
For more information about the role and responsibilities please see the attached Candidate Pack., This role can be based in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle, Nottingham or Swansea, your presence at one of these locations will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you. We operate a hybrid working model giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Our expectation is that you will spend a minimum 60% of your time at your base location. Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this.
Whilst we welcome applications from those looking to work with us on a part time basis, there is a business requirement, for the successful candidate to be able to work at least 30 hours per week.
