Full Job Description

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic moving and handling coordinator to join our Health and Safety Team, working to ensure that we provide a safe environment for our patients and staff providing care. If you've got a passion for safety, training and team work then we want you to join our team! The role is within the Health and Safety Team, working within the Integrated Governance Unit, with the Head of Risk and Compliance. The post holder is responsible for coordinating and delivering training with a focus on moving and handling facilitator courses for staff employed by Pennine Care NHS Foundation trust. They will provide information, training and instruction to staff that carry out moving and handling risk assessments as the need arises. The responsible post holder will also maintain the moving and handling qualification of a group of central moving and handling instructors who will act as a primary training resource for the Trust. Working with the team the person will provide best practice advice to managers across the trust footprint.Main duties of the job The role encompasses 6 main areas of responsibility:Training, Advice and Guidance to services, Resource and information management, Policy development, Clinical audit and research, as well as professional development and effort relating to the management of the environment and reporting. These are listed in full within the job description, but include:

  • o Design and deliver training programmes that are accredited nationally in client related moving and transferring risk assessments and the appropriate commissioning of equipment to health-based staff.
  • o Provide information, training and instruction to health staff to enable them to carry out competent moving and handling risk assessments and to commission equipment to enact risk plans accordingly
  • o Ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety legislation, guidance and national standards
  • o Responsible for the regular monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance of Trust programmes and practices in relation to moving and handling training
  • o Works collaboratively and supportively with the network of internal & external associates and subject matter experts, co-working on projects and interventions in a partnership way.
  • o Develop, lead, implement and review Trust policies and procedures
  • o Be responsible for the planning, deployment and action planning of the Moving & Handling Training Needs Analysis
