To support me out in the community whilst ensuring my safety., Ensuring I am safe at all times
Providing simplified instructions
Finding activities for us to do that you think I might enjoy
Making sure I am safe and secure
Sticking to a structure
Personal care
to help me to be settled, calm and well-grounded during school holidays so that I feel safe and secure with changes.
Support working towards a long term goal such as swimming., Although this is a part-time job, it will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The salary will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given.
I am a 8 year old boy with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) and sensory process disorder (SPD) living with my mum and brother and sister in Tonypandy, Rhondda Cynon Taff and I can present some challenging behaviours. I am non-verbal but can say some phrases and use my hands to ask for what I want. Sometimes I like to run away from people who are looking after me, so my safety is important, especially crossing the roads. Changes and sensory overload can overwhelm me, especially meeting new people; it might take me a little longer to trust someone new. When I am distressed I sometimes head-butt the floor have been known to hit out on occasion. Despite the challenges I face, I am a happy and funny character who is learning to self-regulate with the help of my mum., A proactive attitude in looking for things to do
