Full Job Description

The post holder is responsible for the management of the MRI department. They will work closely with the admin, radiography, Head of Imaging and medical team to ensure the service is run smoothly. The post holder will also be involved in the overall effective management and deployment of all the radiology staff and will assist with all aspects of the day to day management of the Imaging Department. The post holder will be take part in the Quality Standards for Imaging accreditation, which involves online and onsite inspections and submitting subsequent requests for information and evidence as required. Operationally they will be responsible for:

  • The day to day management of the MRI team
  • Patient lists
  • Stock control
  • Disseminate training and key messages, To demonstrate strong leadership skills and to perform management duties to a high standard.
  • To assist other superintendent radiographers and other leads in organising, developing and maintaining in service training of more junior staff and students.
  • Partake in management on calls.
  • To help ensure the effective deployment of staff and resources, including staff rostering and annual leave arrangements.
  • To ensure competencies of all staff working within MRI are maintained and reviewed annually.
  • Ensure protocols are up to date.
  • Ensure MRI local rules are adhered to.
  • Ensure audits are completed.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Support admin team in ensure bookings do not breach.
  • Ensure that patient environments are fit for purpose and compliant with national and Trust policies for information governance.
  • To ensure that all areas of the department remain patient focused.
  • To ensure continual service review focusing on maintaining the highest standard of patient care and service efficiency.
