Join our Materials Planning team As part of the Flexible Pipe Systems Offshore team based in Newcastle UK, you will be joining an established business and team with expertise in pipe design, manufacturing, and installation. This unique combination allows our customers to increase production and asset integrity whilst reducing the overall costs associated with a pipeline system. Partner with the best The Material Planning Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the material planning team. This role involves leading a team of material planners to ensure that materials are procured and available in the right quantities and at the right time to support production and distribution activities. The ideal candidate will possess leadership, analytical, and great communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of supply chain management principles. As the MRP Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring ERP systems through weekly reports to guarantee that the MRP Planner's work is followed and completed in a timely manner, ensure ERP exceptions are resolved.
  • Supporting Production Control, be the first escalation point for material issues that the MRP Planners cannot resolve, to minimise loss of time in Manufacture.
  • Acting as an alignment agent between the different planning functions: long term planning, project planning, Long Term MRP planning and production control short term. Work with the Short Tern MRP Planners to ensure ERP dates are being updated and are in line with the Short-Term Production Schedule
  • Driving cultural change and promote the use of ERP across all functions and levels of the organisation. Develop a data quality improvement plan for the ERP system: Implement routines for regular data health checks and interact with the businesses' functional leaders to establish and formalise a series of functional reviews (Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing, Sourcing…) to ensure data is correct and kept up to date in the ERP.
  • Working with the MRP Planners to ensure an accurate Inventory projection is produced and maintained according to the MPS. Actively monitor and track Inventory KPIs, analyse ERP data -using OBIEE and Tableau tools - and track planned figures vs actual for raw material supply and consumption.
  • Identifying and driving projects for Inventory levels reduction, develop plans for Excess Inventory re-use and disposition.
  • Working with the materials management leadership to drive the Critical Process Assessment (CPA) improvement plans within the MRP Planning department and across all planning functions.
  • Stabilising, formalising, and documenting all MRP processes; implement competency metrics and a cross functional training plan within the MRP team.
  • Developing PIPO plans for all members of the MRP team.
  • Ensuring ERP dates are kept within the MPS at all times by the MRP Planners.
  • Ensuring both material order requisition (Buy) and manufacturing orders creation (Make) are executed on time to support the MPS and Project OTD.
  • Monitoring ERP exception messages weekly, identify areas of improvement and lead projects to resolution.
  • Acting as a change agent, drive ERP system usage and actively support the CPA journey / improvement plan, for the department.

    Have proven experience in a similar role leading a team.
  • Can communicate effectively at all levels and across all disciplines using both verbal and written English.
  • Have experience in MRP planning with intimate knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Have experience reporting to leadership both verbal and written.
  • Be APICS certified or on the journey to become certified.
  • Advanced Microsoft computer skills.
