Birmingham City Council Adults Directorate is delighted to share with you an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Disciplinary Team Manager to join Birmingham Specialist Mental Health Team, to commence with immediate effect.

As a desirable we are looking for someone with mental health experience or a qualified AMHP who would be sufficiently experienced in mental health and Adults social work who is able to make independent decisions around complex situations including safeguarding and serious mental health issues, to join this team.

As a Team Manager you will manage the newly created Specialist Mental Health Team South working closely with the Team Manager for the Specialist Mental Health Team North as the team is expanding. You will supervise the Senior Practitioners in the Team and will be responsible for ensuring a safe and effective high-quality service offer with a key focus on improving and driving performance for the citizens of Birmingham. You will hold additional responsibilities consistent with your role and grade in the form of Portfolio responsibilities which for this role may include supporting with the commissioning of training/supporting with AMHP training where the post holder holds the relevant qualification or experience.

You will be supported by the Head of Service and will have the additional support of the existing Management Team for Mental Health. You will be expected to demonstrate clear leadership and management across key areas including building strong links with external partners. You will be experienced in the management and motivation of staff, demonstrating leadership skills in order to positively influence and engage the team to develop and apply strengths and asset-based approaches into practice, building and sustaining positive relationships within the team, service and organisation, ensuring citizen focus throughout promoting positive outcomes for adults.

You will be experienced in Partnership working with a range of key stakeholders including Homeless Services, Police, The Mental Health Trusts and Children's Trust.
