Full Job Description
Reporting to Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) and guided by local and national regulation and policy, the Multi-Professional Practice Education Facilitator (MPEF) will establish effective working relationships with a variety of service and education colleagues to support the provision of effective placement learning environments, with a particular focus on Allied Health Profession students.
The role will link closely with practice education colleagues to facilitate placement learning across health and care settings linked to PTHB geography. Link with Allied Health Profession Health Board staff, HEI programme leads and wider stakeholders to ensure the provision of high-quality placement learning and act as a positive role model for students, placement educators, and wider stakeholders., Work with Health Board and partner Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to identify, develop and support a wide range of placement learning opportunities with a focus on allied health profession students.
Work with partner HEI placement staff to ensure fair and appropriate allocation of student numbers across placement learning environments and facilitate placement issues arising.
Work in partnership with education providers, health and social care service stakeholders to maximise existing placement learning opportunities that connect values-based, person-centred, compassionate care and student learning.
Work in conjunction with key stakeholders to identify new student placement opportunities across allied health professions within PTHB and scope wider placement potential across social care and independent sectors that fall within Health Board boundaries.
Produce data on the existing utilisation of placements by allied health profession students linked to partner universities, that enables appropriate decision-making on placement capacity and student allocation numbers.
Work with relevant HEIs to ensure interprofessional learning opportunities in line with HEIW interprofessional placement learning principles.
Link with Health Board and All-Wales Practice Education Facilitator Teams to benchmark training needs for practice educator preparation across allied health professions.
The ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our existing dynamic Practice Education Facilitator team. You must have a keen interest in developing and supporting the practice education of our visiting Allied Health Professional students, who are our future workforce. Working in close collaboration with our University Partners both in Wales, and across the English border, you will support the provision of an effective clinical learning environment for Allied Health Professional students whilst in Powys Teaching Health Board. You will be developing links with existing Powys Teaching Health Board placement areas and identifying and growing new placement opportunities.
You will need to be able to work autonomously, have excellent communication and negotiation skills within complex situations. You will have sound leadership and organisational skills as well as experience of supervising and assessing health care students in the practice setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for consideration as a secondment to enable you to develop your skills; employment on an Annex 21 would also be considered for the right candidate who may not hold all the required qualifications.
