Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Multi-skilled Engineer - Electrical Bias to work with a range of Mitie clients to conduct work that provides a multi-skilled maintenance service, which covers electrical and mechanical disciplines and to provide a reactive and pro-active maintenance service as per project requirements to all operational equipment.

You will be responsible for carrying out modifications and installations when required, maintaining, repairing, and calibrating electrical, mechanical and instrumentation plant to optimize both reliability and maintainability. You will provide a service that ensures all key performance indicators are met and liaise with contractors or external suppliers where required. You will also need to complete any required paperwork, produce reports accurately and on a timely basis.

You should carry work in high standards and in line with current company policies and procedures and report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery, or risk to health and safety, or the environment. You will be responsible for ensuring own work and work of those under supervision is completed in a safe and diligent manner.

The ideal candidate would have appropriate up to date training such as NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering Maintenance (multi-discipline) and have good knowledge of building Statutory Compliance. They will need to be responsible for themselves and others to maintain a safe working environment as per the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974). They need to be able to read and understand technical drawings, have good problem-solving and decision-making skills and be able to communicate effectively, verbally and written.

Experience & Qualifications

A combination of or all of the following:

NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating (600/1122/1)

City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 Heating and Ventilating Installation (Industrical and Commercial)

City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 Heating and Ventilation (Domestic Installation) (100/3376/2)

City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 Heating and Ventilation (Industrial and Commercial Installation) (100/3376/2)

City and Guilds Level 3 Heating and Ventilation Installation

City and Guilds Level 3 Heating and Ventilation

City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering Services (Plumbing) (Q1027228)

Level 3 Certificate in Installing, Testing and Ensuring Installations in Dwellings

Level 3 Award in the requirements for electrical installations BS7671:2008 (2015)

Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2018

Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations

Level 2 Certificate in Electrical Installations

Minimum 5 Years Experience in similar locations and appliances

Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices, and ability to use them safely and effectively.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Interacting & Communicating

Excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge of commercial requirements of contract. Knowledge of all requirements for administration of service excellent. Good verbal and written communication skills

Analysing & Reporting

Manual dexterity, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Ability to assess asset condition, report findings and solutions in a clear and concise way. Provide guidance to trainee plumbing engineers to support their development and skilled plumbing engineers to support the decision making process.

Adapting & Performing

Ability to work on own and as part of a wider team. A proactive approach, with a can-do attitude. Good physical condition and strength, and ability to work in different environments and heights

Flexibility and willingness to work overtime, on-call, or during weekends and holidays as needed

Suitable training may be given when needed to ensure that the candidate is competent to achieve the skills required.
