Full Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Multi-Skilled Maintenance to join our team at The Laurels Care Home. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our residents and staff. Your expertise in multiple trades will be invaluable in maintaining the integrity of our care home facilities.,

  • General Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of the facility to identify and address issues proactively.

  • Plumbing: Perform minor plumbing repairs and maintenance, including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and maintaining water systems.

  • Electrical: Assist with basic electrical repairs, such as replacing light fixtures, outlets, and switches while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

  • Carpentry: Repair and maintain wooden structures, including furniture, doors, and cabinets. Perform installations as needed.

  • Tiling: Undertake tiling projects in resident areas and common spaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and aesthetics.

  • Painting and Decorating: Carry out painting and decorating tasks to maintain the appearance of the care home.

    Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a care home or similar setting.

  • - Strong skills in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and tiling.
    - Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to maintenance work.
    - Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
    - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with residents and staff.
    - Relevant certifications in plumbing, electrical, or carpentry are a plus.
