Full Job Description

Client group includes all patients with confirmed diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis referred by the Consultant Neurologists throughout the Wessex Region
To collaborate in the development of services for people with Multiple Sclerosis, ensuring services are in line with national guidelines/directives
To facilitate the assessment, planning, prescription and delivery of care for this group of patients, in order to obtain the best possible outcome in the most cost-effective manner
To provide an information resource, counselling, education and practical support for patients, their families, and staff
To provide an expert link between hospital, community services and the voluntary sector
To influence the development of knowledge, research, ideas, and work practice throughout the region

Be an NMC registered nurse (clinical experience in Neurology, or long-term conditions is expected)
Be an experienced nurse who has a passion and understanding of MS Modern care
Have excellent communication skills
Can work independently and as part of a team
Have driven enthusiasm and compassion

You will be well supported by a highly visible senior nursing team, PDN's and clinical nurse specialists and World leading Consultants. You will have the opportunity to work with the existing and emerging therapies used in the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis, and practice advanced skills in managing the condition as a whole. The team is committed to providing expert specialist care to people with Multiple Sclerosis throughout the disease trajectory, supporting patients in the in-patient, outpatient and day care setting. A telephone advice service is also provided.
