Are you an enthusiastic music teacher looking for a role in school inspiring children and staff in music? Are you passionate about the power of music and want to inspire the next generation? The governors at St Matthew's C of E Primary School are looking to appoint an experienced well-organised teacher who is enthusiastic, professional, flexible and positive with high expectations of children in our high-achieving over-subscribed school to teach music across the school for 4 days a week during teachers PPA time. They will also lead our Prayer & Praise assemblies, the school choirs, support end of year productions and support the music lead with music festivals in school and within our local Borough of Kingston upon Thames. The successful applicant will be able to:

  • Plan and deliver engaging music lessons tailored to students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Inspire students with a love for music, incorporating singing, instruments, and creative musical activities.
  • Be able to sing and perform in front of an audience (i.e. school participants)
  • Provide both individual and group instruction to nurture students' musical development.
  • Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment where all students feel encouraged and motivated.
  • Manage and maintain musical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are well cared for.
  • Regularly assess students' progress, offering constructive feedback to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in music education, incorporating new methods and technologies into lessons.
  • Work closely with other staff members to ensure a well-rounded education for all students.
