MVOG979 Personal Assistant

I need reassurance when I am confused, someone to provide/assist with making meals, prompting medication and help with self-care.

Light cleaning and laundry as and when needed.

I will need accompanying to medical appointments.

Extra PA needed to join existing PA covering a portion of the allocated 15-20hours per week.

When out I will need some encouraging to do activities to pass the time such as gardening, going out for a drive to a café or a park or just staying in and watching TV.

HOURS OF WORK

Visits will be divided between two PA's on a variable basis agreed directly between them, the split does not have to be 50% or the same each week. Hours to be covered each week are 8.30-9.30 every day, 1230-1330 Monday to Friday, and 7-7.30 each weekday. Two mornings a week would an extended visit (after breakfast or before lunch) to allow for an excursion/activity.

Holiday cover for the other PA.

Mileage and expenses for visits out of the house are available

RATES OF PAY

£12.10 per hour

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

Mornings and evenings would be for help with medication, food, and self-care.

Afternoon visits would be mainly for socialising and reassurance, making snacks and drinks and preparing dinner.

On certain occasions I may need some help going to doctor appointments in Barry., This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.

I need someone reliable and punctual so I can keep to a routine, a person who is chatty and friendly but comfortable with silence as sometimes I don't like to chat. Some interest in animals and gardening would be good. Must be happy to work in a home with animals, who might encourage me to go for a walk or to the shops. Experience working with people with memory loss and confusion would be ideal but not essential.
