Full Job Description
Secondment opportunity to work within the Safeguarding team at UHNM as the named nurse for safeguarding children and young people. The post is 32hours per week, working Monday-Thursday. The post holder will, as part of the UHNM Safeguarding team, provide a Trust wide overview of all children/young people safeguarding matters and co-ordinate all issues and processes concerning safeguarding, The post holder will, as part of the UHNM Safeguarding team, provide a Trust wide overview of all children/young people safeguarding matters, co-ordinating all issues and processes concerning safeguarding, providing specialist advice and information.
Contribute to the development of internal safeguarding policies, guidelines, and protocols
Effectively communicate local safeguarding knowledge, research and findings from audits and challenge poor practice.
Facilitate and contribute to own organisation audits, multi agency audits and statutory inspections
Organise, plan and deliver Safeguarding training to staff across UHNM
Undertake/ contribute to serious case/ case management reviews, including the development and implementation of action plans
Effectively work with colleagues across the trust and from other organisations, including the Police, the Local Authority, the Local Safeguarding Children's Boards (LSCB) and other LSCB partners
Work with the Safeguarding team to identify and support safeguarding supervision and reflective practice for staff across the Trust
Participate in LSCB sub-groups, as directed by the Lead Nurse - Safeguarding
Work with the Lead Nurse - Safeguarding and the Lead for Vulnerable Patients to support safeguarding quality assurance and improvement processes
