Full Job Description

This family got in touch with Arthur's House as they are searching for a new live-in nanny for their son. Both parents are busy as they own their own businesses and so work commitments mean this is a sole charge role. The boy attends a pre-prep school close to the home so there is a drop-off and pick up needed throughout term time. Ideally, this family are looking for a dynamic, independent and go getting nanny who is going to relish the challenge of a busy household and an energetic toddler. 80% of the time this boy is out and about so someone who loves the outdoors is going to be key. A nice perk of this role is that there is a private garden close by that you will have the key to - a great place for running around and having fun in., Prepare and cook nutritious meals for the boy, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met. It would be great if the nanny were a keen cook and would be willing to take on additional cooking for the family when batch cooking.
- Manage school drop-offs and pick-ups, ensuring punctuality and safety during transportation.
- Keep on top of the school uniform, book bags, school events etc.
- Engage the boy in educational and recreational activities, including outdoor play. In holidays, you should know the area well and have lots of ideas of how to entertain him including trips to the museums, fun classes and sports. Take the boy to Jesse's House in Parsons Green for activities, swimming and classes.
- Assist with homework and school projects, fostering a supportive learning environment. Knowledge of EYFS would be beneficial.
- Maintain a tidy and organised living space, including the boy's bedroom, play area, and common family areas.
- Launder and care for the boy's clothing and bedding, ensuring cleanliness and proper care. Keep on top of general admin tasks related to the child; keeping lunch boxes clean, keeping the fridge stocked with food as needed etc. The family also employ a cleaner but would expect the nanny to muck in around the home (support with wider family laundry, cooking, emptying dishwasher etc)
- Coordinate and accompany the boy to appointments, playdates, and extracurricular activities as needed.
- Implement daily routines, including bedtime, mealtime, and bath time, to provide structure and consistency.
- Communicate regularly with the parents to provide updates on the boy's progress and any concerns.
- Handle light household chores related to the boy's care, such as cleaning up after meals and organising toys.
- Keep communication channels clear and open with the family.
- Be flexible to work around schedules as needed. Use your initiative to plan for the upcoming months so there is a clear schedule in place for the family and your charge.

A full, clean driving licence and willingness to drive the family vehicle
- Experience as a nanny - you don't need masses of experience for this role but ideally some experience working in a nursery or formal childcare setting would be good plus at least one role as a nanny
- Excellent references from previous employers
- Right to work in the UK and up to date DBS / Criminal record check
- First Aid cert / safety conscious
- A desire to muck in and become part of this dynamic family
- A positive attitude
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the changing environment
