Full Job Description
Stoughton, Leics- Permanent nanny. Live out. Sole charge. Part time: 19-24 hours per week average with some flexibility, 12 hours per week school holidays (17 weeks/year) - and 22-30 hours per week term time. They are a medical family looking for someone to care mainly for a fourteen-year-old girl with some special educational needs and a very friendly Labrador dog, they also have an eighteen year-old boy. Due to the nature of their work, punctuality, reliability and flexibility are very important. Childcare experience preferred and ideally familiarity with neurodiversity and special educational needs, but not essential. A patient, calm, kind, understanding, nurturing and caring individual but needs to be firm but fair when needed. Conscientious, hard-working, energetic and ideally, tidy. Must be willing to do some housekeeping duties. The family need someone who is, or willing to become, Ofsted registered so they can use childcare vouchers
.
· Support for two children and dog: a fourteen year-old girl, an eighteen year-old boy and a two year old very friendly Labrador.
· Both children are self-caring. Until he passes his driving test, the son needs to be driven to school which involves a 5-mile car journey each way.
· Due to special educational needs, the daughter now attends an online school at home. She requires support to ensure that she logs on to her lessons on time and needs some organisational support.
· Nurturing and life skills development for their daughter
· Preparing meals for the children and taking them on trips.
· Keep childrens' bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas clean and tidy.
· Walk and care for the dog.
· Willingness to do some housekeeping duties essential although they have a cleaner. Duties would include stacking and unstacking dishwasher, errands, buying groceries, dealing with laundry. Increased hours may be possible for a candidate who would need to be willing to do light gardening or family cooking when not directly supporting the children or dog.
Monday - Friday School holidays: 9am-1pm three days per week (17 weeks per year) Term time: 7.45am - 4.30pm Wednesday to Friday and a further four hours (morning) on a Monday or Tuesday (33 weeks per year). There is some flexibility in the hours of work, which could be reduced in term time when our son passes his driving test and can drive himself to school. Total 19-24 hrs per week. Paid a monthly fixed salary regardless of whether term or holidays based on average weekly hours.
