About the child/children: B5 is a bright and inquisitive child who possesses a deep fascination with animals, facts, and dinosaurs. His curiosity drives him to explore the facts around him, constantly seeking to understand how things work. While he may not be drawn to imaginative play, his keen interest in factual information and understanding the mechanics of the world reflects his detail-oriented nature. The family are looking for a Sennie that has experience with Autism and ADHD and is sharp and intelligent and can connect with B5 through his love for animals and Dinosaurs. The ideal Sennie should be capable of handling general childcare responsibilities and managing a few light household tasks. The role involves picking B5 up from school Monday - Thursdays during the week, taking care of B5's household tasks such as, organising his school bags and clothes, putting away toys, planning and cooking healthy meals for B5 and tidying away after mealtimes. The upkeep/tidying of their play
areas and arranging/planning appropriate activities e.g trips to the local park will also be required. B5's parents recognize the importance of understanding their son's needs and are actively educating themselves to provide optimal support. As they continue to learn how best to assist B5 with the Sennies help, we aim to offer necessary assistance in a considerate and respectful manner.
At present B5 has a diagnosis of Autism and ongoing further assessments for potential ADHD. He is a high-functioning child who can face challenges in regulating emotions and managing demands. Despite his advanced capabilities, he may struggle with maintaining emotional balance, particularly when confronted with situations that deviate from his fixed ideas. This can lead to episodes of dysregulation, characterised by meltdowns and heightened hyperactivity. It is important to the family that the Sennie is able to assist in understanding and supporting B5's emotional needs and develop healthy coping mechanisms.
