Full Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to support a highly intelligent young mother with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) in caring for her 2½-year-old daughter, Nancy. You'll work alongside Catherine, providing emotional support, practical guidance, and helping maintain a nurturing home environment. While you'll engage and play with Nancy, the focus will be on empowering Catherine in her role as a mother and supporting her personal growth.

About the Family:
Nancy is a bright, inquisitive, and talkative little girl who enjoys activities like swimming, playing in the park, and trying new foods. Her mother, Catherine, is dedicated and attentive but occasionally requires guidance due to the challenges posed by ASC and her post-trauma recovery. Catherine's family is nearby and actively involved in their lives. A cleaner supports the household every other week, so your focus will be on maintaining daily tidiness and supporting Catherine's routine.

What You'll Do:

Provide emotional and practical support to Catherine
Help Catherine follow her daughter's routine and engage in activities
Encourage Catherine to explore personal interests and activities outside motherhood
Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy home
Collaborate with another Family Support Worker, who covers the remaining two days of the week, This is a long-term opportunity to work with a lovely family in a prestigious London location. You'll play a crucial role in helping Catherine regain her confidence and independence, supporting her in being the best mother she can be while also enabling her to enjoy life beyond motherhood.

We are looking for a mature, calm, empathetic, and patient individual with experience in childcare and supporting people with ASC or mental health needs. You should be comfortable helping a post-trauma individual and understand the dynamics of working with a parent-child relationship. You will also enjoy cooking and contributing to a warm, nurturing household.
