About this client/child: Harry is 7 years old; he is a happy, engaging, and cheeky chap. He loves listening to music, painting, sensory activities and playing games with his two younger brothers. Harry also enjoys spending time outdoors where he can listen to the birds and all the sounds of nature. Harry has significant complex care and medical needs; he is totally reliant on others to meet all his needs and is supported by a dedicated care team building up to provide 2:1 24/7. Harry has cerebral palsy, dysphagia, epilepsy (VNS in situ, however, will experience regular seizures), a PEG for all nutrition, fluids, and medication, and requires suctioning. He has a visual impairment, using Eye Gaze Technology to support his communication and is a wheelchair user. Harry is susceptible to chest infections; chest physio is implemented daily and cough assist. He is the very heart of a loving and supportive family, his parents recognise that his care team are instrumental in his overall
development, and ensure their home is both a pleasant and professional working environment.
Overview of role: Harry's team provide 2:1 support day and night. This position includes a sleeping night shift, meaning you sleep at Harry's house and the Waking Night Carer will alert you (via mobile phone) if your assistance is required, although this is typically rare, due to Harry's significant medical needs the possibility is there. Harry has a busy schedule with therapy, appointments, and activities; your role will be to assist and facilitate him to participate in all aspects of his daily routine and family life. Part of this role is to complete school runs; therefore a confident driver is essential. Training is provided, however due to his level of needs, you must come to this role with complex care and medical experience; a large part of this role involves clinical care. Additional hours are available if desired, rates of pay: £17.00 weekdays | £19.00 Weekends and £11.44 sleeping night. All figures quoted in gross.

Complex Care Support Worker, in Guildford area, GU3. 2 x long overnight shifts per week (Sunday and Wednesday) for an experienced and professional complex care support worker to provide 2:1 care to a charming young chap! £28,734.00 + GPA

Wage/Salary: Wednesday: £281.08 | Sunday: £271.52 | Annual Salary: £28,734.00 | All figures quoted in gross
Driver Essential? Essential, and confident driving a WAV (automatic drive) to complete school runs
Essential: Experience supporting a young person with complex care and medical needs (suctioning, PEG), confident with all aspects of manual handling, excellent communication and writing skills
Desirable: Chest physio, VNS and epilepsy management, NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Sunday: 4.00pm until Monday 10.00am AND Wednesday 2.45pm until Thursday 10.00am. Both shifts involve a sleeping night: 9.00pm to 5.00am
