Overview of role: His team of Support Workers / PA's assist Felix in all areas of his care plan, ADL's, self-help skills, and therapy programmes, whilst continually promoting his independence and working on his overall development. This role is all about supporting Felix to reach his full potential, with excellent training provided by his team of therapists and conductor (conductive education specialist) you will be confident in your role and learn invaluable new skills and knowledge along the way. We are building a team to provide 2:1 support, therefore we are extremely flexible and will work around your availability. Afternoon shifts start at 3.15 pm to 8.30 pm, weekends and school holidays offer 11-hour day shifts starting at 9.00 am and waking nights from 8.30 pm to 8.30 am.

Who this job would suit: This role will suit an active, dedicated, and proactive SEN Support Worker / PA; you may be currently working in a support team, seeking additional hours, or looking for the opportunity to learn new skills. You will be working alongside another team member and/or Felix's parents who are wholly supportive and invested in building a positive dynamic team.

SEN Support Worker, Itchingfield, RH13. A flexible and dynamic role with excellent training opportunities available for a SEN Support Worker to work with a bright and engaging young chap with a physical disability, following a Conductive Education Programme. Up to £19.00 Gross per Hour.

Driver Essential? Yes, WAV (automatic drive) for use on duty
Essential: Confidence supporting young people with additional needs, non-smokers/vapers
Desirable: Knowledge or experience of Conductive Education
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Up to 30 hours per week, however, very flexible for the right candidate. A mixture of shifts, days, weekends, and nights available. Please get in touch with your availability.

About this client/child: Felix is 11 years old; he is an active, intelligent, and determined young man and is a big brother! Felix has a long list of hobbies and interests, including swimming, baking, story-time, socialising with his peers, and loves to be outdoors. He has dystonic cerebral palsy and epilepsy, and as a result, is dependent on others to meet all his care needs. Felix follows the ethos of Conductive Education, which means he is enabled by his support team to be as independent as possible in all his activities of daily living. He uses a communication device talker and is very capable of making his needs and wishes known; he loves general chit-chat! He lives in a fully adapted home with his family in West Sussex. Felix strives for his independence and with the support of his expert therapists, support team, and parents, he is making excellent progress!
