Full Job Description

The Strategic Mental Health Programme drives improvements in the quality and safety of mental health care and support across Wales to deliver better and more equitable outcomes, access, and experience, reduced unwarranted variation, and improve population mental health. This national programme is the critical interface between Welsh Government policy and service delivery, providing direction and support to NHS Wales organisations and public and third sector organisations.
The postholder will support the National Director to establish the Strategic Programme for Mental Health. Important aspects of this role include:
+ Overseeing development & delivery of projects across the programme
+ Supporting the team to deliver its priorities
+ Developing partnerships and wide stakeholder engagement
+ Co-production with people with lived experience
+ Business case development and strategic thinking
This is an ambitious national programme working in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders. The role requires someone who is

+ Ambitious and impact driven, The following duties will be discharged working closely with key programme stakeholders
To programme manage the implementation of the respective programme.
Undertake a lead role in coordinating the development of relevant services Identify and understand the needs of stakeholders and provide sound judgment and diplomatic skills
Manage the production of the various work packages which constitute the programme and subsequently develop forward work to deliver programme objectives.
Co-ordinate the activities of relevant programme Boards and other forums.
Prepare Programme, Project, Stage and as required Exception Plans, in consultation with the Programme Board.
Be responsible for the overall progress of the Programme and use of resources, initiating corrective action where appropriate.
Keep the Programme Board informed of progress through the preparation of Highlight and End Stage Assessment Reports. Manage the Programme risks and develop contingency plans as and when necessary.
Identify Programme issues and develop solutions where necessary and report to the Programme Board.
Provide advice to Ministers and Senior Officials on the development of policy to support the implementation of the Programme.
Provide verbal and written reports as requested by Programme SRO, Programme Director and NHS Wales Executives.
