If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you., The National Speciality Advisory (Acute Medicine) will work to the Regional IUEC teams and National Clinical Director for IUEC to provide clinical leadership, advice and strategic oversight of acute medical services. The will assess and advise on the services' clinical safety, governance and effectiveness within their respective region as well as providing advice, when needed, to the National Clinical Director. The post holder will help develop and deliver best practice across the field of acute medicine, working closely with local teams and wider stakeholders.
At a national level the National Speciality Advisory (Acute Medicine) will offer clinical expertise in relation to IUEC and represent the acute medical services at regional and national forums as needed. They will engage at a national level with other clinical leads and NHS England leads as required; providing regular progress updates to regional and national teams, as well as other stakeholder groups.

South West, The National Speciality Advisory (Acute Medicine) will provide clinical leadership, advice and strategic oversight of the IUEC Service in terms of its clinical safety, governance and effectiveness within Regions. Helping to provide assurance on the continual development of robust, safe, and enduring clinical governance processes across each NHS service delivery area. You will work to the Regional IUEC teams and National Clinical Director for IUEC to develop and deliver best practice.
At a national level the National Speciality Advisory (Acute Medicine) will offer clinical expertise in relation to IUEC and represent the Regional Acute medicine services at regional and national forums as needed. They will engage at a national Level with other Clinical leads and NHS England leads as required; providing regular progress updates to regional and national teams as well as other stakeholders.,

  • Provide advice to the National Clinical Director for IUEC and Regional IUEC leads on operational issues within the field of Acute Medicine.

  • Provide strong clinical leadership and support for IUEC services in the region, and nationally when required.

  • When required, provide advice on longer-term strategic issues within the field of Acute Medicine.

  • When required, to review and provide advice to individual systems, trusts or other organisations.

  • Provide a healthy challenge for IUEC across the Region and of urgent care systems with the common aim of improving patient care, experience and staff experience.

  • To be a member of the National Clinical Leads Group (NCLG) for IUEC , acting as a conduit for dissemination of information to and from clinical colleagues as appropriate

  • The post holder is expected to act as a role model upholding high standards of professional behaviour, integrity and courtesy and always acting in the best interests of patients.

  • Develop strong relationships and provide support to the acute medicine service leads at acute trust level. To Act as the conduit from " board to ward"

  • Operational
  • Responsible for delivering / promoting strategy and innovation and supporting operational excellence in the Sector. Working with a range of data, facts and situations often requiring detailed analysis and interpretation making decisions on the most appropriate approach.
