If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you., Providing clinical leadership to the Integrated Urgent and Emergency Care System outside hospital including, but not limited to: Integrated Urgent Care (both Call Handling and Clinical Assessment Services) accessed through NHS111, "Out of Hours" Primary Care, Urgent Treatment Centres and other elements of the IUEC System in terms of clinical safety, governance and effectiveness ensuring that clinical leadership is central to the delivery of local IUEC services., You will work to the National Clinical Lead for Urgent and Emergency Care and work with and deliver through the national team, regions and staff across NHS England predominantly.
You will have direct experience of Emergency Medicine (EM) with considerable experience and proven expertise to better understand the issues relevant to patient flow, including Same Day Emergency Care and NHS 111, including the hospital components of the urgent and emergency care caseload within an acute setting.
Whilst the role is advisory rather than operational, operational experience as Head of Department or Clinical Service Lead or equivalent would be expected. The post holder would be expected to deliver their responsibilities primarily via telephone, teleconference and email rather than physical meetings/ attendance at specific sites.
The potential scope is wide-ranging and not specifically task limited but would include:
+ Improving direct referral to Same Day Emergency Care by linking the hospitals programme with NHS 111 and the Ambulance Service
+ Improving the transfer of data from 111 to hospitals
+ Develop and organise the referral of patients via alternatives to ED using SDEC, NHS 111 and the community
+ You will engage with stakeholders inside and outside NHS England as required to promote the IUEC programme.

As Clinical Lead you will be part of the Senior Management function of the UEC Transformation Team, within the Integrated Urgent and Emergency Care (IUEC) sub-directorate.
