As National Transport Manager (GB Cement), you will be key in steering and guiding the development and implementation of the logistics strategy for the GB Cement business. You will have the opportunity to play a vital role in supporting & deputising for the Logistics Manager (GB Cement) in ensuring the import, storage, and transportation of cement via road, delivering a safe and efficient operation., To truly excel in this role, you will need to possess a proactive and visible leadership style, be energised, empathetic, and have a talent for working with and leading a team. Your responsibilities will include spearheading Health, Safety and Wellbeing initiatives for your team at Breedon Cement operating locations, as well as overseeing fleet replacement capex and maintenance budgets. Additionally, you will be accountable for providing safety, service & spend reports on transport operational performance, cost and mitigation. Devising and implementing process improvements, whilst ensuring compliance with operators licencing, road transport legislation and best practice. You are expected to be the type of individual who doesn't shy away from challenging the norm. What truly matters is understanding, influencing, and driving change across multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally. Breedon Cement Ltd operates a hybrid transport model. Incorporating a FORS silver accredited own fleet of bulk cement tankers and a 3PL core fleet in both bulk & bagged distribution. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational efficiency of our road transport network, distributing bulk and bagged cement from various national locations to a GB customer base. Working closely with QSHE, supply chain, engineering and other operations teams to ensure an aligned approach and success as a team, adding value to the overall business.   • Minimum of IOSH managing safely or experience of managing H&S in a transport environment
  • Proven experience of transport management in a similar or transferable fleet
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience preferably within a unionised environment
  • Experience of managing a geographically dispersed teams of >60 direct & indirect reports
  • The ability to provide analytical data sets on cost, performance and mitigation
  • Commercial acumen & awareness of the value we add to our commercial function
  • Experience of managing significant operating budgets
