Full Job Description

The Specialist Instructional Officer will support RM Instow with provision of essential training for personnel through theoretical/ practical tuition, planning and forecasting of courses along with acting as a centre of excellence for the subject matter taught. They will also promote a strong health and safety environment through the effective training, safety observations and interactions with staff and students that supports the output of 11 Squadron.

Main duties involve:

To organise and/or conduct 11 Squadron Training Wing courses, students and resources including the management of 11 Squadron's Longcast.
Maintaining comprehensive records to meet audit and assurance requirements on the appropriate MOD IT software systems, for which full training will be given.
To conduct formal and informal assessments of students' practices ensuring compliance, health and safety is maintained.
To act as Building Manager for Training Dept 11 Squadron.

There may also be a requirement to work off-site at other Units or overseas to deliver specialised training and carry out support functions within the job role. This may involve overnight stays, for which you will be entitled to Travel and Subsistence; in accordance with the current policy.

In Navy Command, our civil servants work closely alongside their military colleagues in jobs that matter; jobs which often have a direct impact on the quality of the operational capabilities we deliver., As a Specialist Instructional Officer, you will also be working with other departments in support of Amphibious Trials and Training, crewing the Beach Recovery Vehicle (BRV), Material Handling Equipment or assisting with lifting operations, occasionally during unsocial hours, for which a premium will be paid in line with current MOD Policy.

You will also be responsible for demanding equipment spares with regards to training to ensure that RM Instow can continue to deliver our outputs.
