Hours: Monday - Friday with flexible shift patterns, which will include Days & Nights (10:00-20:30, 11:00 - 21:30, 12:00 - 22:30, 13:00-23:30)

  • summary:
  • Network Control Group manage in the consolidation and handling on data for all inbound and outbound air and road material into EMA Hub. Team consistently work with local and EU teams to manage the air and road network to ensure seamless connectivity.

  • DHL Aviation are currently recruiting for a Aviation Quality & Improvement Specialist Apprentice, to join our Network Control Group department at our site at, East Midlands Airport, on a fixed term contract for the duration of the Apprenticeship.


  • Key responsibilities:
  • High level of focus on safety, on time departure, maximum capacity utilisation, fuel optimisation and extra load device (ELD) loading to ensure the efficient operation of the EU and Intercontinental air network. In this role you will also be responsible for the management of inbound/outbound data transmissions, crew liaison/fuel coordination and flight watch functions.

  • Optimise load planning in order to achieve density and fuel optimisation targets. Coordinate on time build-up of ULDs by the reloads in order to maximise uplift and contribute to on time departure performance.

  • Monitor the arrival/departure times of all air movements and capture delay codes that reflect the scenario on the ground.

  • Acknowledgement and implementation of Network Routing Updates (NRU).

  • Report on performance at flight level.

  • Collaborate to ferry material in to/out of EMA in order to maximise available air capacity.


  • What will the apprentice be doing?:

    We are currently recruiting for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join DHL Hubs & Gateways UK.
  • Strong communication and across various stakeholders - INCC, NCC, RTC , intra EU connectivity

  • Working with UK GTWs to manage performance

  • KPI Management - WLF, Density, FOP

  • A/C Fuelling management

  • Mass and Balance Training

  • Commercial Uplift Monitoring

  • Management of HMRC Customs Processes for DDI network (NCTS5 support)

  • Supporting and streamlining presentation from IB UK SVCs

  • Yard Management/ Restructure support
