Full Job Description

The NCL Nursing and AHP Ambassador role supports workforce development, planning and education of primary care nursing and AHP professions across the five boroughs in North Central London: Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington.

This post will contribute to and deliver a range of priorities to ensure the continued professional development of primary care nursing and AHP teams, including reviewing and developing peer and professional support networks to help recruit and retain borough workforce.

The post holder will work closely with a number of key stakeholders such as GP employers and Federations, borough and PCN teams, NCL Integrated Care Board (ICB), nursing and AHP lead colleagues in acute/mental health/community trust within and outside the NCL Integrated Care System (ICS), NCL and borough Training Hubs, higher education institutes (HEIs), and NHS England.

Main duties of the job

This post will include the following duties and responsibilities:

1. Work with the North Central London (NCL) Training Hub, the Clinical Director, other professional Ambassadors, the nursing project team, the NCL Training Hub Programme Director, the borough Training Hub Programme Managers and NCL clinical leads, and relevant external stakeholders to develop and implement projects to promote the recruitment and retention of nursing and AHP teams as part of primary care workforce.

2. Support the provision of a comprehensive programme of education, training, and advice to employers to develop nursing and AHP roles across practices and PCNs and familiarise with individual borough footprint.

3.Work collaboratively with other professional Ambassadors and members of the TH in a variety of settings to plan and deliver education events, programmes, and courses.

4. Communicate and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to promote and develop nursing and AHP professions in primary care.

5. Inform training needs analysis for nurses and AHPs and help steer the NCL TH programme of training and development.

6. Work with the five borough training hubs to support their PCNs to get the appropriate training and development support for nursing and AHP teams including.
