Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual who aspires to take on a senior clinical leadership role, as Neonatal Nurse Consultant and join an established and supportive clinical team within the Neonatal Unit at UHS. The successful candidate will work with the Senior Leadership Team, multi-professional team, commissioners, external partners, and families to co-create maternity pathways and services in accordance with the NHS Long Term plan and neonatal transformational work streams. A key component of the nurse consultant role is to provide expert and autonomous care to babies and families requiring assessment, treatment, management, and clinical interventions in the department.

The post holder will have a significant role in developing and influencing strategies and policies to ensure excellence and high-quality care for neonatal patients and their families across the Trust.

Key working relations include: · Multidisciplinary team coordinating neonatal service provision in particular: · Senior nursing team · Medical workforce, including both juniors and consultants · Neonatal, Maternity, and paediatric practice educators. · Families and caregivers on the neonatal unit.
