Full Job Description
Are you enthusiastic, highly motivated and looking to join a friendly team? As an experienced nurse, you will be responsible for the delivery of high quality, evidence-based care to babies and their families. Your role will involve working clinically, taking charge of the Neonatal Unit for your shift and liaising with the multi-disciplinary team. We will provide you with opportunities to develop your clinical and managerial skills, as well as supporting you in continuing professional development., Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions. Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning. Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level. We are looking for a dynamic Band 6 neonatal nurse qualified in speciality. A minimum of 6 months experience post qualification is required., Essential
- RN / RSCN
- Evidence of relevant post-registration professional development.
- Resuscitation Council Neonatal life support
- Practice assessor Desirable Obtained or working towards 1st level degree. Experience / Knowledge Essential
- Post neonatal intensive care course minimum 6 months
- Knowledge current evidence-based practice
- Knowledge changes in NHS services
- Knowledge & Understanding clinical governance
- Understanding of multi-cultural population
- Knowledge of current issues relating to nursing / neonatal nursing
- Understanding of equal opportunities
- Understanding of patient confidentiality Desirable
- 2 years Experience working on a Neonatal Unit
- Budget management Skills Essential
- Ability to organise and deliver a high standard of research based, neonatal clinical nursing care
- Ability to support and manage a case-load of patients including assessment, planning, monitoring and evaluation
- Provide health promotion and education to patients and carers
- Excellent inter-personal and counselling skills
- Ability to liaise effectively with members of the Primary Health Care team and other agencies
- Ability to act as a role model and leader to others and to motivate a team
- Computer skills
- Experience of the IPR / appraisal process Desirable
- Good presentation skills
