Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated and independently minded leader to join our team as Matron for neonatal services. If you have the passion and drive to ensure all neonates and their families receive the highest quality, safe care then this might be the right job for you.

The post holder will be supported by the wider team to provide strong clinical leadership on the quality of care provided, cleanliness of the environment and will role model a quality driven, caring and compassionate leadership style, upholding the standards and values of the nursing profession at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust., The Matron will ensure that operational plans and performance are closely managed, promptly escalating issues which are unable to be resolved.

The post holder will implement patient centred national and local clinical, operational strategy and plans, ensuring that systems and processes are in place to comply with relevant legislation and governance requirements.

The Matron contributes to the strategic direction and policy setting for the Division, forming an essential two way communication link between the Division and staff in the Directorate.

The post holder will have line manager responsibility for Clinical Manager and any B7 specialist nurses in the service.

The post holder will work effectively and efficiently with fellow Matrons, Senior Nurses and General Managers to deliver quality services for patients. There is a specific focus on visible, accessible and strong clinical leadership; service quality and development; and the patient's experience of safe, compassionate, timely and effective care.

The post holder will ensure service improvements are undertaken with the service user voice as an equal partner ensuring true co-design.

We employ more than 6,500 staffwho deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals,Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, healthcentres and in patients' homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.

We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children's and young people's services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.

We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.
