Full Job Description

+ To work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Neonatal and Maternity Teams, to provide high quality, individualised care for all babies and mothers requiring admission to the NICU., + The role of the Neonatal Nurse is to work under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Sister and Senior Clinical Nurse to deliver safe and effective quality care, within the NICU.
+ The post holder will provide effective family integrated care, underpinned by evidence based practice.
+ To be responsible for the continued assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of care for babies admitted to the NICU.
+ To provide individualised care to babies, mother and extended families on a shift by shift basis.
+ To support teaching and supervision of all members of the team and pre-registration nursing students.
+ To present a positive, professional image of the organisation and of the nursing team
+ To be responsible for updating own knowledge and skill in line with Trust policies and procedures and NMC Code., To work autonomously, and as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Neonatal and Maternity Teams, to provide high quality, individualised care for all babies and mothers requiring admission to the NICU.
To work within own scope of practice, and to seek support and guidance when indicated to provide holistic transitional care.
