Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced neonatal nurse with 3 years post neonatal training and at least 2 years of experience facilitating and teaching in Neonatal care to undertake the role of Lead Practice Development Nurse. This is a highly challenging and rewarding role within our fast-paced service. You will possess an NMC PIN and have neonatal experience.

You must have an interest in education, and the development of evidence-based standards of care. If you are motivated with good leadership ability and excellent clinical skills, we would love to hear from you. Inreturn you will benefit from continuous education for carer and professional development enhanced leadership skills succession planning within the unit and the trust.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a part of the senior neonatal nursing team, willcontribute to the

operationaland educational management of the unit. Willlead/ facilitate. Linking of theory to

practice. on both pre and post education,training andpractice development for neonatal

nursing team. The post holderwill have excellent teaching and presentation skills both

inthe classroom and clinical area.

You will lead / facilitate to deliver an effective and dynamic education program from our neonatal education strategy to the nursing team, students coming into the service (which includes staff on clinical placement during their neonatal nurse training) and junior staff who need induction and support. We offer clinical placements to students undertaking neonatal nurse modules from level 1 and 2 units.

You will be an enthusiastic, motivated senior neonatal nurse with substantive experience at band 6 and above. You will have robust teaching, presentation, and organisational skills as well as evidence of an interest in education, ambition, drive and excellent communication skills.

You will in return receive ongoing support from the Senior Nurse, trust education team and multidisciplinary team (MDT) team.
