Full Job Description

We are recruiting for clinically experienced nurses to join our family-centred team.
The neonatal unit at Royal London hospital aims to provide a safe, high quality and family-centred environment, which meets the holistic needs of the neonate and families in our care.
It is a level 3 Tertiary unit providing care for babies born at 23 weeks and above. Cooling, ROP service and specialist surgeries for East London and South Essex for any gestation aged neonate are a few of the services we provide.
We have capacity for 37 cots comprising of 11 intensive care cots, 12 high dependency cots and 14 special care costs. There are also 6 transitional care bedrooms where parents can stay with their baby, which is known as 'rooming in,' before they are discharged home., Our Central delivery suite manages approximately 5,000- 6,000 deliveries per year, with a 10-15 per cent admission rate. As a level 3 unit we also receive babies from other level 1 and level 2 units for medical and surgical escalation of care.
We have a dedicated education team comprising of two practice development facilitators and two clinical practice development facilitators.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Neonatal Unit aims to provide quality, holistic care to babies in partnership with parents/carers in a family centred environment, recognising the child's developmental, physical, psychological,
emotional, social needs. When it is in the child's best interests nursing care and support will be provided at home to minimise or prevent hospitalisation.
The post holder will have a host hospital but may be required, on occasion, to work in the other 2 Neonatal Units within Barts Health.
