A 6 month secondment opportunity in Strategy and Communications working closely with Climate Change team
We are seeking a keen, motivated and committed individual to be responsible for managing to conclusion the council's 'Embedding Net Zero' project.
You will support senior officers, elected members and the Climate Change Team to devise and develop a Change Management Programme.
The project is part of a wider programme with 50 other local authorities from across the UK and includes monthly workshops and other meetings to share learning.
Work started in 2023 and a gap analysis of barriers to net zero delivery has been completed
Work will include:
Delivery of a net zero change management programme which has been developed over the last year, including setting up capacity building workshops across services;
Liaising with external technical assistance partners providing resident, district and youth engagement;
Working closely with colleagues in the Climate Change Team and around the Council to input this into an update Climate change action plan and embed net zero in services.

Are you a project manager who has an interest in climate change?
Looking for an opportunity to get some further experience in net zero delivery?
Are you able to influence change at a senior level of an organisation?
Knowledge of frameworks for managing change projects, including key project stages.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build effective stakeholder relationships.
An ability to influence, negotiate and challenge.
