Full Job Description
- A 6 month secondment opportunity in Strategy and Communications working closely with Climate Change team
- We are seeking a keen, motivated and committed individual to be responsible for managing to conclusion the council's 'Embedding Net Zero' project.
- You will support senior officers, elected members and the Climate Change Team to devise and develop a Change Management Programme.
- The project is part of a wider programme with 50 other local authorities from across the UK and includes monthly workshops and other meetings to share learning.
- Work started in 2023 and a gap analysis of barriers to net zero delivery has been completed
- Work will include:
- Delivery of a net zero change management programme which has been developed over the last year, including setting up capacity building workshops across services;
- Liaising with external technical assistance partners providing resident, district and youth engagement;
- Working closely with colleagues in the Climate Change Team and around the Council to input this into an update Climate change action plan and embed net zero in services. - Knowledge of frameworks for managing change projects, including key project stages.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build effective stakeholder relationships.
- An ability to influence, negotiate and challenge.
