Full Job Description

We have a great opportunity for Network Architect and Technical Team Lead who can Think, Drive, Support and Deliver. This is a UK Based role and you will be responsible for leading the design, maintenance and expansion of the network. You'll be a technical expert and understand the workings of our carrier grade network and capable of acting as a final point of escalation for the most complex fault's. You'll need to be equally comfortable working individually, or managing a small team. Responsibilities

  • Design, maintenance and optimization of complex networks.
  • Ensure network availability is kept above the SLA thresholds.
  • Assess, maintain and enhance network performance and security.
  • Proactively response to alarms & monitors the network status.
  • Document everything from network designs, troubleshooting manual and procedures to user guides.
  • Carry out migration/maintenance tasks as required by the business.
  • Provide Out of Hours support for network escalations.
  • Provide engineering assistance in the Service Provider Wireless Carrier space (specializing in Cisco and Non-Cisco equipment)
  • Serve as the SME within Services and Technical aspects of Service Provider networks (SP Architectures, IP/MPLS, LTE/IMS, IPv6, IP NGN, Cloud etc.).
  • To lead and coordinate the team to facilitate growth and development.
  • To supervise and manage technical team.
  • To allocate technical resources to tasks/projects to support business objectives.

    Proven hands-on experience working with carrier grade cisco devices.
  • Must have CCIE - SP certification (both lab and written).
  • Must have strong experience with carrier grade network design, migration and implementation.
  • Must have comprehensive practical and theoretical knowledge of typical carrier technologies, including BGP, OSPF/ISIS, Multicast, IPv6, Firewalls, MPLS and MPLS based VPN solutions.
  • o Routing protocols (including but not limited to OSPF/BGP) o MPLS Networks (MPLS-TE, RSVP, LDP, L3VPN, L2VPN/Pseudo wires, CESoPSN etc.) o Switching (including but not limited to STP, VLAN Trunking (802.1q), LACP, QinQ)
  • Experience with Cisco products like the CRS-X, ASR9000 and 7600's
  • Experience with Juniper MX-Series and EX-Series
  • Must have deep understanding of packet captures, and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems based on packet analysis.
  • Experience of configuring and using common Network Monitoring Systems (NMS) such as Solarwinds, Nagios, PRTG, etc.
  • Experience producing technical documentation including, Project Plans, High Level Designs (HLD) and Low Level Designs (LLD).
  • Skills, experience and qualifications (preferred)
  • Network Security experience
  • Experience with PON based infrastructure
  • Automation/Scripting Skills
  • Exposure to SDN, Network engineering: 7 years (required)
