Full Job Description

To support the fast growing user community and the introduction of new and innovative products and services, we are continually expanding our backbone network infrastructure around the globe. We are looking for a Network Development Manager (fka Network Investment Manager) to join our EMEA network infrastructure group to support our growing network footprint needs. This person will lead network investments through capacity and dark fiber leases and acquisitions, network infrastructure development, and construction, strong subsea experience will be essential. They will - often working with partners and vendors - develop and implement strategies to provide Meta with best in class economics, optimal flexibility & scalability, unmatched delivery & availability as well as optimized operation & maintenance arrangements.If you are passionate about network infrastructure and making the world more connected, please send your resume for consideration for this exciting role., 1. Develops supply strategies, including joint build efforts with partner organizations with similar connectivity needs.
2. Manages a portfolio of subsea system and fiber infrastructure suppliers globally but with a focus on trans-Atlantic, African and Middle East regions.
3. Identifies suppliers, negotiates commercial terms, and works with the legal department to negotiate and execute supplier contracts.
4. Manages and develops partner relationships across a diverse range of countries.
5. Oversees the performance and management of contracts through the full lifecycle, tracking and ensuring supplier compliance within the terms and conditions of the contract, processing of supplier invoices, creation of contract variances and renegotiation as needed.
6. Understands the subsea and telecom wholesale markets' technological and commercial developments and positions Meta in the right place. Represents Meta network team in conferences and trade shows.
7. Maintains deep familiarity with other major market players and competitive dynamics on both the supply and demand side
8. keeps track of price trends in the market to ensure best in class commercial terms for Meta.
9. Collaborates strongly with cross functional teams to develop network requirement and acquisition strategies and generates clear and objective investment analysis and recommendations for investment approvals.
10. Works closely with finance and planning teams to develop budgets, forecasts and long-range investment plans and with Accounting and Accounts Payable for accurate processing of supplier invoices and compliance with accounting guidelines.
11. Ability to accommodate pre-planned travel as required for the role.

12. BA/BSC or equivalent in technical or business related field with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
13. Good understanding and experience in subsea cables, fiber infrastructure, and carrier market players and familiarity with evolving commercial trends.

14. Proven experience with major business development projects and managing joint investments with partners across multiple regions.
15. Demonstrates proven track record of major deal execution and understanding of subsea cables (preferred) and / or terrestrial fiber infrastructure
16. Strong project management experience including for procurement, construction and operational teams
17. Some financial modelling experience and ability to quantitative analyze and and present findings
18. Business level English plus proficiency in French and/or Arabic would be bonus.
19. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team and with external partners.
