You'll support Capital One UK's Network Infrastructure ensuring our technologies meet Capital One`s continuously updating requirements. This role will encompass technical analysis, project design/delivery, support BAU services and contributing to the wider organization. The Engineer will be expected to have excellent Cisco Data Centre or Service Provider knowledge, with experience across infrastructure platforms (Cisco NX-OS and ACI, Palo Alto, Versa SD-WAN based services and some knowledge on AWS networking ). You will work as part of the 24

  • 7 On-Call Rota as required. Some out of hours' work will also be required.
  • What you'll do
  • Work as part of a high performing team with a can-do attitude.
  • Provide Operations Support for the entire Network & Firewall infrastructure including participation in the On-call Rota
  • Become SME (Subject Matter Expert) for at least 1 technology platform, to drive future direction through refresh activity and Service Improvements.
  • Deliver Change to the Infrastructure as required through Refresh, BAU and Security Compliance activities.
  • Support Capital One's Network Services, this includes:
  • Troubleshooting incidents
  • Supporting other teams to achieve their goals where applicable
  • Provide/produce supporting documentation.
  • Working within Cloud Engineering teams to understand future changes to Systems, Services and Skills required to support.
  • Be a custodian to service through consultancy and implementation activities
  • Working closely and building a relationship with Critical Suppliers (Carriers, 3rd Party Call Centres, System Manufacture Support etc...)
  • Adopting our Agile working methods for Delivery and Business-As-Usual functions

    Excellent working knowledge of Cisco Enterprise DC and WAN components; Cisco ACI, NX-OS, and BGP. Along with knowledge of requisite hardware platforms.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of networking/security infrastructure technologies; Versa SD-WAN, Palo Alto, Versa SD-WAN, F5 Appliances.
  • Good working knowledge of Amazon Web Services; Specifically, around connectivity requirements; Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, VPCs, NACLs, SGs.
  • Good understanding of network Automation platforms
  • Experience of networking tooling such as Solarwinds, Netbrain and Wireshark.
  • Strong understanding of security principles and how they apply to infrastructure technologies.
  • Working with virtual teams using multiple & varied supplier engagement models
  • Exposure to Agile / Kanban methodology.

    This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham Office We have a hybrid working model which offers you the flexibility to work from our offices and from home, when you need to.
