Full Job Description
You will assist the Network Manager to achieve regulatory performance targets and ensure network assets are managed within budget. You will be pro-active in resolving customer related issues, such as flooding, pollution and blockages whilst positively representing Welsh Water. You will work within a shift rota as well as participating in standby rota to deliver exceptional customer service. Your responsibilities will include: 1. Resolving Customer related issues with regards to the sewerage network, taking ownership and resolving to a satisfactory conclusion. To include but not restricted to:- Flooding, Pollution, Collapse, Blockage, Rising Main Bursts, Odours. 2. Assisting the Network Manager and reviewing the departmental budget, workload and manpower requirements. 3. Liaising with asset strategy, local asset management and capital delivery teams to ensure risks are identified, understood and solutions developed. 4. Assisting the Network Manager with external stakeholders to develop and maintain strong regulatory relationships eg. Natural Resources Wales representatives, and participation with community groups when appropriate. 5. Ensuring all activities are carried out in line with health and safety policies and procedures. 6. Developing and maintaining a quality management system and achieve a high standard of internal and external audit compliance. 7. Ensuring all service providers are effectively managed and are compliant with management systems & processes. 8. Provision of technical support to service providers and Welsh Water operational staff. 9. Identify cost effective operational or reactive capital solutions for complex network issues to ensure that customer and environmental issues are quickly resolved. 10. Ensure all investigations into sewerage network issues are of the highest standard and compliant with respective procedures. 11. Monitor and review telemetry alarms. Carry out detailed investigations and make recommendations that reduce alarm activity and improve operational efficiencies. 12. Emergency Response - provision and testing of appropriate functional contingency plans. 13. Responsible for the management of the Access to Assets Procedure. 14. To cover and deputise for the Network Manager as appropriate, participate in relevant regional groups as required.Who you'll work with Internal

A minimum HNC qualification in Civil Engineering or working towards this - Full and valid driving licence
- Experience gained through understanding of wastewater service delivery working within high performance teams
- Ability to think strategically but also able to ensure effective day to day delivery of services
- Computer Literate, with experience of Window applications & SAP
- Understanding of planning and scheduling of work processes
- Ability to develop positive working relationships and to be seen as a highly credible representative of the business is required for this role
- Excellent communicator (verbal & written) with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate ideas, targets & solutions to colleagues and service providers
- The ability to gather, understand, analyse and interpret information & concepts, verbal or numerical, about people or situations, quickly Good to know
