Royal Marsden Digital Services is seeking a Network Solutions Architect Manager to take the helm in a role that offers exciting challenges, innovation, and a chance to make a lasting impact on the care our clinical staff provides to patients.
Location: Wallington (travel to Sutton & Chelsea sites as required).
Some of our Key Opportunities:

  • Strategic Leadership: You'll provide strategic direction to manage and future-proof our network provisions, ensuring that our clinical staff have the tools and connectivity they need to deliver exceptional care.

  • Supplier Relationships: Manage and lead technical compliance for key service reviews with network suppliers, nurturing strong relationships for effective service delivery, ultimately supporting clinical teams.

  • Technical Design: As the network technical design authority, you'll guide the creation of solutions that will empower our clinical staff with the latest digital platforms for patient care.

  • Problem Resolution: Lead network operational problem management, ensuring the lessons learned from network outages are documented and implemented.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with both internal and external technical leads to ensure network solution architecture is effectively implemented and managed., The Network Solutions Architect Manager is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and retirement of the network systems and the services under the responsibility of the Network. The post holder will provide strategic direction to manage and future proof all Network provisions, ensuring reliable and resilient service for all end users, together with reliable resilient network.

  • The post holder will also have responsibility for ensuring that trusts network infrastructure systems, including firewalls, routers, and switches, together with other associated hardware and software are maintained, developed and that they meet the needs of the Trust Roadmap for development of the networking infrastructure to support clinical and corporate services. The post holder acts as technical authority for projects and changes reliant on networking infrastructure., + The overall serviceability of the Trust Network, supporting RM Digital Operations in managing the contractual relationship with all contracted managed network service and support providers.
    + Lead as the network technical design authority across all Network disciplines
    + Lead and develop on all aspects of forward network strategy, providing strategic forecasts regarding capacity management of the Trusts network and security infrastructure (5 years +), including the identification and proposal of financial investments required.
    + Lead on network major incidents response and operational problems.
    + Act as a core member of the Change Advisory Board.
    + To be aware of, and adhere to, all Trust Policies & Procedures.
    + To negotiate at a senior level and be a major influence in the decision-making processes both locally and strategically.
    + Deputise for the Digital Services Solutions Architecture and Design Lead when required.
    + Technical, Design, Planning and Governance
    + Provide technical solutions for the implementation of secure, highly available network solutions, to support convergence of voice, data, and multimedia services, as well as cloud application security architectures.
    + Provide technical direction, and engineering solutions for enterprise-wide data networking and data security services supporting key business requirement Working with all technical leads of both RMH internal and external 3rd parties to govern that agreed network solution architectures are implemented and managed appropriately in full.
    + Working closely with project and technical teams to review, interpret and respond to business requirement specifications. Ensuring alignment between customer expectations and current and future networking capabilities. Providing clear cost estimates of time and materials to achieve the desired networking capabilities and configurations

    Flu Vaccination - What We Expect of our Staff
    At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
    The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
