Join the Fibre Planned Outages Team, the team responsible for ensuring that Vodafone can professionally undertake planned service interruptions on the network to support our annual programs of work while fully discharging our regulatory requirements and contractual obligations to our customers. As a Fixed Networks Engineer within Fibre Services you will be responsible for the detailed planning of changes impacting the Vodafone Network Fibre Layer to support Customer Delivery, Core Project Build, Maintenance and Diversionary Works requirements.

  • Validate and schedule Cable Planned Outages on the Vodafone Fibre Network
  • Plan validated Cable Planned Outages from receipt to implementation.
  • Instigate audit and work requests into partner teams and monitor completion
  • Schedule works to meet expected delivery dates for the sponsor
  • Minimise the impact to Vodafone customers wherever possible.
  • Identify and analyse network and customer traffic affected,
  • Gain approval and notifying customers of forthcoming work in accordance with Change Management and customer SLA's.
  • Deal with customer queries/objections to Planned Work as appropriate.
  • Assess requirements for engineering support reducing the need for Field Engineer attendance and request via partner agencies
  • Instruct partner organizations to proceed with delivery
  • Produce Method Statement to facilitate implementation and monitoring
  • Complete RCA of failed changes
  • Promote and develop good working relations with other Internal and external Agencies, build partners and stakeholders.

    Proven experience working with Core Networks
  • Knowledge of physical fibre infrastructure and installation methods
  • Analytical mindset and curiosity is key for this role
  • Effective communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office Packages (outlook, excel & word, SharePoint, Teams etc)
  • Please note, the ability to achieve and maintain Security Clearance is required for this role.
