Full Job Description
The post holder will predominantly be responsible for supporting youngpeople and families who access the neurodevelopmental service. This role will involve managing duty telephone calls, managing referrals into the service and assisting in theassessment of children and young people pursuing a neurodevelopmental diagnostic assessment.The post holder will also have opportunities to develop and facilitate intervention groups directly with children and young people or if a nurse, train to be a nurse prescriber for the service., Contribute to the triaging of referrals for children and young people pursuing a diagnostic assessment for ASC and/or ADHD, often in the context of other suspected or diagnosed neurodevelopmental conditions, traumatic experiences, and emotional wellbeing and mental health difficultieso Contribute to the maintenance of diagnostic assessment waitlistso Carry out developmental history assessments directly with parents/carers, and create subsequent reports as part of the diagnostic assessment processo Gather, analyse, report, and present information as part of the diagnostic assessment and report-writing processo Support, and with training, lead on structured interviews and observation-based diagnostic assessments with a registered cliniciano Create post-diagnostic reports to include personalised recommendationso With appropriate training, contribute to the delivery of cognitive assessments, and subsequent interpretation and report creation, under supervision from an HCPCregistered
psychologisto In line with service demands, co-facilitate psychoeducation and skills-based intervention groups for children and young people with a range of presentations, with a registered cliniciano Assess, plan, organise, and deliver goal-based brief interventions with children, young people, and parents/carers, in line with skills, training, and experience, as agreed with the supervising clinician, and in line with service demands and clinical governance
