Full Job Description

We work closely with a number of in-house legal teams, so in-house experience would be beneficial for any applicant, but is not essential., We are looking for a newly qualified solicitor to take a key role across our commercial litigation team. We encourage autonomy and there is room to make the role your own by getting involved in marketing, client meetings and high-quality work from the start. You will progress based on merit, with a clear path to promotion for the right candidate.

You must have top class legal, technical and soft skills. You will be expected to work proactively on litigation cases with a particular emphasis on matters in the media, entertainment and sports industries.
It would be beneficial for you to have experience in litigation matters. You will be expected to demonstrate an ability to understand basic litigation practice and procedure, as well as a solid understanding of regulatory and industry related issues that arise across the media entertainment and sports sectors. Knowledge of the law relating to defamation and data protection would also be useful, but is not necessary.
Personality is important at Brandsmiths. You need to easily build relationships internally and externally. You will be supervised by senior lawyers but will also be expected to supervise and mentor junior and non-qualified lawyers to assist in their development.
You should be goal orientated, driven, comfortable dealing directly with clients and welcome opportunities to develop business. You will be encouraged to grow your network and, with the assistance of others in the Firm, eventually build a client base of your own. Cross-office working between our London and Manchester offices is always encouraged.

Salary: Base salary at market rate in line with experience, plus bonus scheme
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 5.30pm with 1 hour for lunch

This role will involve working within a growing team for a range of interesting, high-profile clients across various sectors including media, entertainment and sport and will require the candidate to assume a significant amount of responsibility from the start.
The role will suit someone who is able to work within a team as well as independently on new matters, you must have a desire to establish yourself as a key player in a fast-growing area of the Brandsmiths business.
