Newly Qualified Child Health Staff Nurse Preceptorship

Child Health at HHFT supports you to access the Wessex Regional Preceptorship programmes provided for NQN staff working in either the paediatric or neonatal teams. These robust preceptorship programmes are accessed for your first 12 months in post, provide you with paediatric or neonatal focused education and training designed to support you in your transition from student to registrant. Further support is provided by the Clinical Practice Facilitators for your area and, where appropriate, support from the Trust's dedicated Preceptorship Team.

Child Health provides a range of services across the two sites. These are:

BNHH: Acute In-Patients including day case surgery (G2 ward), Ambulatory Services (Charlie's Day Unit), Neonatal Unit

RHCH: Acute In-Patients including day case surgery (Northbrook ward), Ambulatory Services (Sophie's Place), Neonatal Unit

Both ambulatory teams work in partnership with the Paediatric Assessment Units in the Emergency Departments.

We also provide Community Services including CCNs, Special Schools & respite care for young people with complex health care needs and learning difficulties.
