The maternity team at CDDFT are searching for committed dynamic and enthusiastic newly qualified midwives to join our team. We want you to be here, shaping our vision for an outstanding service that gives our women, families, our community and our midwives an extraordinary experience. You will join a warm and supportive team of midwives who truly care about the womens experience.

We welcome applications from Midwifery students who are currently in their 3rd year of training within 6 months of qualifying who are enthusiastic and committed to working in collaboration with women, their families and multi-disciplinary teams, supporting personalised choice and promoting exemplary care in line with national transformation ambitions and local Trust Values.

Our Midwives work across Acute and Community settings, with an excellent preceptorship programme lead by our specialist Practice Development Team. You will be supported and welcomed into your role and encourages to continue your development as a newly qualified midwife. We are keen to develop highly trained Midwives who can deliver exceptional care, to the families of County Durham and Darlington.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for newly qualified midwives who are committed and passionate to provide maternity care during all three stages of a persons' maternity journey. You will be responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans which ensure delivery of holistic, research based care, prioritising commuication, informed consent and relationship building.

In return we offer a innovative and personal preceptorship programme where you will be supported by a team of specialist senior midwives to develop your skills further and thrive in your new role as a qualified midwife. We will take into consideration your skills and knowledge and develop a plan with you as to your preferred base after preceptorship, be that in an Acute setting or Community.

We also have various options to develop your skills and become part of one of our community teams based across our area during your preceptorship

You must be able to produce ALL certificates stated essential in the person specification or you will not be able to complete pre-employment checks

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
