Full Job Description

To provide one-to-one support to young people and young adults who have complex need and are at risk of youth violence and criminality. To provide youth mentoring for young people/adults, providing tailored and structured support enabling service users to navigate challenges, and develop life skills, supporting the reduction in offending behaviours. To support young people into education, employment and diversionary/physical activity. To work with the team to generate systemic change; influencing systems that create additional barriers to the lives of young people and young adults.

Key Activities:

-To work with young people/young adults on a one to one or group basis, using a variety of interventions, to identify needs and to achieve positive outcomes.

-To work co-operatively with children's and adult services (social care/criminal justice services and education), health agencies and other community based services, to provide the most effective service for children, young people and young adults.

-To work with young people/young adults who are deemed high risk of perpetrating and /or becoming a victim of criminality and youth violence.

-To contribute to Service development.

-To apply transitional and adult safeguarding and child protection procedures.

-To be responsible for equipment/resources linked to service delivery.

-To be responsible for case note recording, contributing to report writing and producing and keeping management information.

-To promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the working environment
