What will I be doing?
To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the hotel to the satisfaction of all guests needs and that the night audit is completed to fulfil all audit and statistical information requirements for the hotel
To ensure the security of hotel guests and hotel as a whole and to provide services for hotel guests.

Key Job Responsibilities
Revenue:
Ensure all monies for the payment of services are accounted for using the correct company procedure
Be conversant with all front office systems of operation - Opera, Marsha, Opera S&C, Micros etc.
Maintenance of all control systems and ensure all revenue is correctly charged and monies are securely kept
People:
Effectively and efficiently manage the operation of Nights at the Hotel
Develop the night team and actively coach on customer care skills, department procedures etc.
Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for employees. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve employee performance
Educate and train all employees in compliance with governmental and safety regulations. Ensure staff are properly trained and have the tools and equipment to carry out job duties
Manage team members ensuring day-to-day tasks are carried out to the required standards
Liaise daily with all departments and deal appropriately with any maintenance issues raised, giving priority to those issues which compromise Health & Safety procedures if any are found to be faulty
Ensure all team members have a sound knowledge of the local area regarding history, places of interest and special events and where further information can be obtained
Establish a friendly and helpful attitude to all guests and staff
Guest Experience:
Understand and respond to customers' needs and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction
Check hotel guests in and out, and assist with luggage when required
Ensure all ordering and deliver of guests' newspapers and the correct charging and controls are implemented
Ensure early morning calls are actioned at the time specified and to the standards laid down
Breakfast trays are delivered, and service is given to the rooms when required
Ensure all cleaning of areas as dictated via the Hotel Manager/Head Housekeeper, removal of all trays from public areas and bedroom corridors as necessary
Ensure all meeting rooms have been set up for the next day as required
Deal with complaints/problems politely and positively and make every effort to resolve them. If you cannot resolve them, refer to the Front Office Manager
Responsible Business:
Adopt a pro-active approach by carrying out a regular walk round the hotel and grounds to ensure potential problems are dealt with promptly
Working with the Maintenance Team, have an in-depth knowledge of all plant and equipment in the hotel
Have knowledge of hotel security, emergency procedures, FLS and crisis management
Ensure that the handover procedures are followed in the transferring of all relevant information daily
Ensure a minimum of 2 security checks at regular intervals, across the whole hotel, with specific emphasis on security, fire and health and safety
Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as a manager on duty.
