He lives in his family home in Chigwell with Mummy, Daddy and 2-year-old brother. He has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and epilepsy (controlled with daily medication). Ben enjoys playing, exploring the world in his power chair, sensory play and watching his favourite TV shows. He has a great sense of humour and expresses his likes and dislikes through gestures, vocalization and is beginning to use his AAC device as well as "Now and Next" cards to support his communication. He has a small, dedicated care team providing 1:1 day and night support; with an opening for a waking night carer to join.

A typical night starts at 7.00pm after a full handover, the waking night carer will assist Ben with his bedtime routine, administer medication, settle him off to sleep, and continuously observe via a video monitor and record all movements throughout the night on an electronic log. Ben will require assistance throughout the night, and soothing back to sleep, repositioning, or personal care. The waking night carer will manage the morning routine until 7.30am, when a team member or Ben's Mum or Dad will take over. Thursdays are not available, however all other night shifts are; and if you are seeking more than 2 nights per week, our client can potentially offer additional hours.

You will be experienced in a waking night carer role supporting children, with excellent communication skills.
