Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Night Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Risley, a category C, re-settlement Prison located in Risley, Cheshire, working with long-term condition patients. Working with a really pro-active healthcare team who are very supportive of eachother and welcoming of new starters. Shadow shifts welcome. Hours 37.5 hours - Working nights, 8.30pm - 7.30am Monday to Sunday, week one, week 2 off., As a Primary Care Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
  • Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.

    Registered nurse - Adult
  • ILS or BLS qualification preferred
  • Current professional qualification (NMC)
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.,
  • Enhanced Clinical Practitioner L6 or L7
  • Advanced Clinical Practitioner L7 (includes NMP)
  • In this role, I can really enhance my leadership skills- both clinical and non-clinical- as well as my managerial skills, I can engage with other clinicians to lead by example, and inspire and motivate other clinicians. I'm thriving in this role and am really enjoying it.

    This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £40,211 per annum FTE - depending on experience. How will we support you?
