Full Job Description

Wakefield Council has committed to providing high quality accommodation and support to young people within its care. The Night Support Assistant role will complement the larger team within our sixteen-plus accommodation service ensuring children & young people are provided with oversight and support throughout their stay. Our Ofsted registered accommodation forms part of Wakefield Council's wider residential offer to children in care and care leavers. The Supported Accommodation Standards and Regulations 2023 are reflected within the role of the Night Support Assistant and our commitment to ensuring children and young people are supported by a trained and skilled staff team. You will be responsible for the on-going oversight of several properties and various types of accommodation. Importantly, you will often be the first line of contact for young people. You will also support children & young people who are homeless or are at high risk of homelessness.

You should be committed to improving the life chances of children young people, have knowledge and understanding of working within an Ofsted regulated service, be a competent communicator and be able to apply the values of Wakefield Council. You should be a vehicle owner/driver, demonstrate good standard of word processing skills and be to working unsocial hours, including weekends.
